CENTCOM Strikes Numerous Targets in Iran, Including Naval Vessels

(MENAFN) The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Monday that its ongoing operation in Iran has struck more than 9,000 targets, including several dozen naval vessels, according to reports.

A CENTCOM fact sheet indicated that the US has damaged or destroyed upwards of 140 ships.

The operation has involved a combination of air, naval, and ground assets, utilizing strategic bombers, fighter jets, drones, and missile defense systems.

Tensions in the region have intensified since February 28, when US and Israeli forces launched joint attacks on Iran, resulting in over 1,300 casualties, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has responded with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military facilities.

Since the start of the campaign, a total of 13 US service members have died, and approximately 200 others have sustained injuries.
