Indonesia Aims to Secure 2025 Asian Woodball Title
Aang Sunadji, Chairman of the Indonesian Woodball Federation (IWbA) Executive Board, announced on Monday that the national team is determined to claim the overall champion title at the continental tournament.
"For us, the goal is clear—we must become the overall champion," Sunadji declared. "I have set a target of winning four gold medals from the eight events we will participate in."
Sunadji said the target is grounded in the team’s consistent performance on the global stage.
Indonesia made a strong showing at the 2024 Woodball World Championship, capturing gold in both men’s and women’s categories. The country also secured the world championship crown back in 2019.
With 15 nations anticipated to send delegations—each comprising 10 athletes—the competition is expected to be fierce. Still, the IWbA remains confident
.
The championship will feature a mix of formats, including stroke play, fairway events, and team matches.
Sunadji’s optimism is rooted in more than just past victories. He emphasized the athletes’ disciplined preparation and the federation’s strategic approach, aiming to make a powerful statement as the host nation.
