Man Fatally Wounded Early Today by Bullet that Entered Wall of South Nashville Sam's Club

A bullet from gunfire on Antioch Pike just after 4 a.m. today went through a metal wall of Sam’s Club and fatally injured an innocent 55-year-old man who was doing work in the middle of the store.

The victim, Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro, an employee of Frito-Lay, was in the chip aisle conducting a product inventory when the bullet struck him in the head. Staff rushed to his aid. Carlock was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation to this point shows that gunfire on Antioch Pike around the time the victim was hit is connected to an argument that began inside Lavo Lounge just down the street from Sam’s. Individuals were removed by security and the argument reportedly continued outside. Shots were heard as multiple vehicles were leaving. Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing leads.

Anyone with information about the gunfire and/or the vehicles involved is asked to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
